Chip-carved squirrel 6" long, carved of aspen wood. A great example of the Cordova school of woodcarvers from New Mexico.
This squirrel shows the use of a unique carving style that has been practiced for generations in Cordova, a village in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico.
Carved by Chris Ortiz, signed on the bottom.
