Old Handmade Tip Down
This is a really nice old piece of ice fishing memoribilia. This is the nicest and oldest "tip down" we have ever seen. The 37 1/2" heavy duty wooden rod is entirely hand made, expertly wrapped with wire at the line ties. Counterweighted at the butt end. Some age cracking on the rod just adds to the antique looks. The wooden base is 37" long and was designed to be set in snow or frozen slush. "Wm. Davis" is carved into the base. Shows some use. Overall, it has excellent patina. From northern Wisconsin. Circa early 1900's.
